PROSTATE SUPPORT™ INDICATIONS:  The prostate is a gland that lies at the base of the bladder, surrounding the urethra.  It produces semen and protects the delivery and fertility of the sperm.  A young man’s prostate is about the size of a walnut. It slowly grows larger with age. If it gets too large, it can cause problems. This is very common after age 50.  The older men get, the more likely they are to have prostate trouble.

Common problems associated with the prostate include:

Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH) — As men age, they experience enlargement and inflammation of the prostate which can lead to difficulties with urination. This is often caused by an abnormal overgrowth or inflammation of the tissue of the prostate which then blocks the urethra or the opening of the bladder. It is often considered to be a consequence of age. As we age, the conversion of testosterone converts into Dehyrotestosterone (DHT) and estrogen increases. Both hormones are considered causes of BPH.

Prostatis  — An inflammation or infection of the prostate mostly seen in men from the ages of 20 to 50 due to chlamydia or bacteria from the urine which passes through the urethra and settles in the prostate.  Men with healthy prostates do not experience this problem because prostates that lack vitality are often more susceptible to infection.  Non infection forms of prostatis are also recognized and they can stem from auto-immune conditions. Prostatitis is often caused by a depletion of zinc and enzymes (which sterilizes the urethra and protects the gland from infection) seen with increased sexual activity.  Excesses in alcohol, coffee, and sugar can have the same effect.

HOW TO USE PROSTATE SUPPORT™:  Prostate Support™ is designed for aromatic and topical use. If using topically, we recommend 1- 2 drops around the pelvis (the lowest part of your abdomen). For Aromatic Usage, hold the bottle under nose and inhale.

It has been shown in several studies that pentacyclic triterpenoids found in B. serrata have an inhibitory effect on the growth of prostate cancer cells.  Among the boswellic acids, AKBA inhibits prostate cancer by suppressing vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2–mediated angiogenesis. Also, tirucallic acid, isolated from the oleogum resin of B. carterii, works as an effective Akt inhibitor, which apply cytotoxic effects in human prostate cancer cell lines in vitro and in vivo.^[26]

Akt is a serine/threonine protein kinase which has an important role in multiple cellular processes such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, transcription, and cell migration.
